Discusses some of the activities and processes required to support the integration of people with mental health problems as fully contributing and valued citizens.
It is the Society's first paper of many to come on social inclusion. Here are the beginnings of an approach that is prepared to move beyond the boundaries of the traditional care system and work with communities to remove barriers to participation and involvement. Every aspect of this work has its place in a socially inclusive society and anecdotally at least it is the synergy between all the parts that practitioners will tell you leads to real change.
